Robert Patrick Casey Sr. (1932–2000) was Pennsylvania Auditor General 1969-77 + Governor 1987-1995. Pro-life Democrat barred from speaking at the 1992 DNC over his abortion stance; the case Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992 SCOTUS) bears his name + reaffirmed Roe while permitting some restrictions. Heart-transplant surgery 1993 during his term. Father of U.S. Sen. Bob Casey Jr. Died May 30 2000 of amyloidosis.
