Marion Shepilov Barry Jr. (1936–2014) was DC Mayor across four terms: 1979-1991 + 1995-1999. Civil rights organizer (SNCC chair 1960-61). Arrested January 18, 1990 in an FBI sting at the Vista International Hotel — caught on videotape smoking crack cocaine with ex-girlfriend Hazel "Rasheeda" Moore. Served 6 months federal prison; returned to elected office 1992 (Ward 8 Council) + won the Mayor's office back 1994. "The Mayor for Life." Died Nov 23, 2014 in office on Ward 8 DC Council.
